MSI Specializations
Within the framework of the Master of Science in Information program, you may choose to specialize in one or two areas:
Or you may earn the degree without a specialization and tailor your own Master of Science in Information.
As of 2008, the IEMP specialization will no longer be accepting new students, as IEMP has been split into two specializations -- incentive-centered design, and information policy. Students interested in the management consulting and analyst track should follow the incentive-centered design specialization. Students interested in information policy should pursue the information policy specialization.
The links above will lead you to details on individual specialization requirements. Note that no matter which specialization(s) you select, you must still meet all of the general requirements of the MSI program, including the core courses, distribution requirements, cognates, and practical engagement.
The MSI program, in all its specializations, is fully accredited by the American Library Association. The typical master's student completes the program in two years.
